Understanding Order Statuses in Stegback’s Order Management System

In the Stegback order management system, the order statuses track the lifecycle of each order, from when it is placed until it is completed. Here’s an explanation of each status:

  1. On Hold:
    • This status means the order is temporarily paused and is not being processed. This could happen for various reasons, such as awaiting payment, a customer request, or pending additional information. The order is neither canceled nor progressing until the hold is lifted.
  2. Processing:
    • The order is actively being worked on. This typically involves tasks like packing, or preparing the order for shipment. The order is in the processing pipeline but hasn’t yet been shipped.
  3. Cancelled:
    • This indicates that the order has been stopped and will not be processed further. It could be canceled by the customer or the system (due to payment failure, out-of-stock products, etc.). No further actions, such as shipping or packaging, will take place.
  4. Ready to ship:
    • The shipping label has been generated, and the order is ready to be dispatched. While the package might not have been picked up by the courier yet, the necessary documents for shipping have been prepared.
  5. Shipped:
    • The order has left the warehouse or the fulfillment center and is on its way to the customer. At this point, the shipping process has started, and the customer will likely be able to track the package.
  6. Partial Shipped:
    • Only part of the order has been shipped, while the remaining items are still being processed. This can happen when an order contains multiple items, and some are ready to be shipped before others. The remaining items will be sent out in separate shipments.
  7. Delivered:
    • The order has reached the customer’s address, and the delivery is considered complete. This is the final step for orders that don’t require further actions (such as returns or replacements).
  8. Return:
    • This status indicates that the customer has initiated a return process for the order or a part of it. The return may be in transit back to the seller or under review for processing.
  9. Replacement:
    • The customer has requested a replacement for one or more items in the order, and the replacement process is underway. This typically happens when the original item was damaged, incorrect, or defective.

These statuses provide a clear picture of where an order is in its lifecycle, making it easy to manage and track its progress through the system.
